Hi, I'm Ranzie
This portfolio grew out of an unexpected friendship. I began visiting a 93-year-old woman to help with her dog and small things around her house, but the visits quickly became something more. We spent hours talking, laughing, and sitting together while she told me stories from when she was young — summers she loved, places she lived, and how her daughter was married in the house we were sitting in.
At the same time, both of us were dealing with our own memory struggles, so some conversations wandered, doubled back, or didn’t quite line up. But in those tangled, funny, sometimes confusing moments, something very real took shape. She was genuinely interested in my life, and I was deeply moved by hers.
These artworks come from that relationship — from shared stories, mismatched memories, soft misunderstandings, and the simple sweetness of showing up for each other across generations.
